Who are those friendly Greeters?

Frank and Shirley Mustar have been attending Grace Bible Chapel for fourteen years. They have three children, Mary, Michael and Joe.

Before their retirement, Frank was a Junior High Counselor in the White Bear Lake School district. Shirley was a Media Center Secretary in White Bear Lake as well.

Frank said his favorite hobbies are woodworking, volunteering, fishing and hunting. Shirley said she likes to sew, knit, work on their computer, do puzzles and counted cross stitch.

Frank said his favorite Bible verse is: Romans 8:28 "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God,
to those who are called according to His purpose."

Shirley said her favorite Bible verses are: Psalms 91:1-16
"1. He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2. I will say to the Lord, My refuge and my fortress, My God, in who I trust!
3. For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper, and from the deadly pestilence.
4. He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings you may seek refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
5. You will not be afraid of the terror by night, or of the arrow that flies by day.
16. With a long life I will satisfy him, and let him behold My salvation."

Congregational Q & A

Ken Polley

Wednesday night was the congregational questions & answers with Rev. Ken Polley regarding the likely interim pastoral considerations. Polley is visiting Grace Bible Chapel this week to consider helping the church in the time span leading to a new senior pastor. He is willing to start in June, working two to three full days a week, being an anchor of leadership in times of change. Emmanuel Ministries is the organization backing Polley to do this kind of work, and he has four to five years under his belt guiding other congregations in similar situations. Ken Polley believes it will take a few months before he will get a true sense of the church environment to make informed decisions on which direction to guide Grace Bible...

Sportsman's Breakfast

On Sat., April 26th, Mr. Perry Loegering, from the DNR spoke to the Sportsman’s Breakfast. He spoke on the Pros and Cons of feeding deer. He said many people enjoy watching deer in their yards, so it is entertaining to have the deer come to their feeding station.

However, there are numerous problems associated with feeding the deer. The deer have hollow hair, so they stay warm in our cold winters. They also rely on fat reserves, so deer can survive with very little food over the winter season. Deer are browsers, and are not normally gathered into herds, beyond their family group, so when they gather to eat, there is more transfer of diseases. Also having the deer in a concentrated area, there is more chance of auto accidents occurring and more damage to person property—either to the person feeding the deer, or their neighbors.

The profile of deer killed by wolves is usually a seven year old female. The profile of a deer shot by a hunter is a two year old deer. They feel the differences come from the younger deer not knowing how to avoid human contact, and the older deer is declining physically, so is more easily caught by wolves.
