CHURCH LEADERSHIP: Chuck (Sue—Ben, Josh, Zach) Scherer, Elder Board; Mike (Angie—Jacey, Dawson, BreAnn ) Cowan, Deacon Board

MISSIONS FOCUS: Eldon & Becky Porter, SIM, USA, Latin Ministries

We cannot imagine a more exciting time in the history of missions than right now…God is raising up missionaries from some of the most unexpected places…A growing number of these missionaries are asking if they could join SIM and serve in our already multi-cultural missionary teams.

  • Two very important meetings Eldon is organizing: Lima 8/14-16: Key SIM leaders from North & South America developing consensus and a clear plan for ongoing relationship with Latin American missions movement, and

  • San Jose, Costa Rica 9/16-19: Context for dialogue between the international mission organizations who are receiving Latino missionaries and the many Latin American missionary sending agencies.

Pray for wisdom to know how best to respect and work effectively with sending churches and agencies, and that Latinos will be patient as our teams learn to understand and accept them with their gifts and strengths.”

Continue to pray that our family be a Deuteronomy 6 family and that each of us would seek first God’s kingdom and righteousness; our kids are in major decision-making times of their lives.”
