Description

This is a traditional soup recipe that goes back many years and is easy to prepare. The baked beans make this soup an all time classic. It is a hearty soup when vegetables are plentiful and fresh.

Ingredients

  • 1 c cold baked beans
  • 1 pt water
  • 1 sli onion
  • 1 stalk of celery
  • 1 T chili sauce
  • 1⁄2 c stewed and strained tomato
  • 2 T Butter
  • 2 T flour
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

Put beans, onions, water and celery in saucepan. Bring to boiling point and simmer thirty minutes. Rub through a sieve; add tomatoes and Chili sauce; season to taste with salt and pepper and bind with butter and flour cooked together.
