Description
Banana bread is a basic, reliable banana bread recipe. The perfect thing to do with over-ripe bananas! This is the only banana bread recipe you'll ever need. Moist, filled with banana flavor, and easy to make.
Ingredients
- 1 1⁄2 c White Sugar
- 1⁄2 c butter, softened
- 3 bananas (the riper the better), mashed
- 2 eggs
- 2 c all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 t baking soda
- 1⁄3 c sour milk or buttermilk
- 1⁄4 t salt
- 1 t Vanilla Extract
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. 2. Lightly grease an 8 in x 4 in loaf pan. 3. Combine all ingredients into a large mixing bowl. Beat well. 4. Pour batter into pan. 5. Bake on middle shelf of oven for 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.
Notes
1/2 tsp. baking powder and 1/3 cup milk can be substituted for the sour milk/buttermilk and baking soda.
